Parallel
Pratik Mitra
From the forgotten avenues of oblivion
one or two sparks of anecdotes
stretch its tongue to touch rings of time
perhaps to check whether your ring
befits or the terms tend to be a failure.
Your engagements fill your ring to the full.
In stead of soul-searching
you have chosen to drool.
In stead of some creative endeavour
you are preoccupied with the pain in the chest
you are after some enzyme.
you chance to look through the window
into the cacophonic busy traffic below
and think yourself to be thoroughly blessed.
The tryst with the past will soon be dusted off
and the life moves on evading that ultimate test
beefing up the backdrop and bonding in scoff.
