Poem || THE THROTTLED LOVE || Kunal Roy
THE THROTTLED LOVE
I met her once,
In a breezy afternoon,
With lustrous lips,
Graceful gait,
Curly -
Brown cascade,
Down her waist!
Elegant!
With a misfortune in store!
Love whispered ,
Enticed the soul,
Inspired the skinny pore -
Felt the fragrance,
Realised the touch -
But in vain!
She was in some other arm,
The delight was stolen,
The love was throttled -
Bled the soul,
Upon the thorns of earth!
I wanted to die under the starry sky,
An inner voice jerked -
Death should not be the choice!
Yet death was desirable!
The God never responded,
Kept silent,
Kept unperturbed!!
